Catherine is an exceptional teacher who goes beyond the curriculum; she frequently shares personal experiences with us to teach us the importance of skills and empathy. She always ready to provide her self to give us first hand expirence of care. the day of oral care and shave she had 23 times oral care. Each and everyone brush her teeth and floss. Due to that reason we had deep sense of respect and connection with her.
That week was difficult for her, everyone can sense it because we were aware about here grandfather's health. The impact of that was visible on her well-being and mood. Seeing her dedication along side her personal struggle created a moment of relisation for me that we should do somthing for her.
Few weeks ago Prayatna (one of my classmate) sent me video on Instagram. Where student surprise their teacher with the same way. That day we decided we will do samae thing for Catherine. But we did that on the same week so that we can show her some respect, empathy, strength and love which we have for her. I sent the same video to our whatsapp group. and describe the situation to everyone that i think this will be give her some strength and it's needed.
During our lunch break and last break everyone made the posters and after the break we keep our camera's off and rest you can see in the video. her fisrt reaction was total surprise and then little emotional. She took a moment to compose her self and thanked us by saying how much it ment to her. After the that the environment felt lighter and more unified.
That happened during a live virtual class via Zoom.
The instructor, Catherine Duggan, and our entire class except Ashish who were really sad by not being part of the incident. Later on i show him the video and He get really emotional.
